About the event
“Ink Affinity” is jointly presented by Lianhe Zaobao, Qiu Zhai Art Studio, and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA@Singapore). The exhibition will be held at MOCA@Singapore from 20 September to 7 October 2025. This exhibition establishes a century-long artistic dialogue between Singapore and China, featuring over 300 ink masterworks from the Qiu Zhai collection. By juxtaposing Singapore’s artistic evolution with the modernization of Chinese ink painting, it illuminates the profound metamorphosis of twentieth-century East Asian art through the tensions between conventional practices and experimental approaches. Collectively, these works form visual chronicles of societal transformation across both nations, revealing the creative adaptation of a shared cultural heritage.
